CHANGING the time

SURFACE change

& secure using TORX SCREW’s

aligning the SURFACE with the module to attach the TORX SCREW’s is incredibly straightforward. A small location pin has been discreetly integrated into the MODULE’s top structure, hidden beneath the lug. This pin fits into a corresponding pinhole on the underside of the SURFACE; when you rotate the components together, this pin ensures a secure and precise connection during the swapping process

TORX SCREW’s

if you’re wondering why we chose TORX SCREW’s, the answer is simple: they significantly reduce the risk of blemishes on the surface or any part of your watch when changing components. The six-point star design looks sleek and facilitates an easier fastening process. This increases precision between the screw and the driver, as the driver fits securely into the entire screw head, minimizing the likelihood of cam-out (the tendency to slip out) and enhancing accuracy compared to traditional slotted or Phillips head screws

Each watch comes with four extra TORX SCREW’s, so you’ll always have spares in case any get misplaced. These additional screws are conveniently packaged in a stylish storage capsule, making it easy to keep them organized

STRAP change

all our straps are equipped with standard quick-release spring bars, known for their durability and ease of use. This design allows you to effortlessly change your strap whenever you like. If we reach our second stretch goal, we’ll include a tool for conventional spring bars, which will enable you to use any 22mm width straps with the module and surface

back-up locking

for the MODULE & SURFACE

a carefully considered feature of our watches is the STRAPS, which function as a backup locking mechanism between the SURFACE and the MODULE. In the unlikely event that the TORX SCREWS are not fastened, these components will remain securely in place, ensuring your watch won’t come apart while you’re wearing it. Warranty, Returns, Service & Repair

WARRANTY COVERAGE

ALTERNATIVE SYMMETRY provides a 12-month limited warranty covering manufacturing and material defects for all watches purchased from an authorized ALTERNATIVE SYMMETRY retailer. The warranty period begins on the original date of purchase.

This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or damage resulting from misuse, negligence, unauthorized repairs, or failure to follow care instructions.

The warranty will be void if:

  • The case back is opened by anyone other than ALTERNATIVE SYMMETRY

  • Pushers or crowns are operated while the watch is submerged

  • The watch is exposed to moisture beyond its rated water resistance

The warranty excludes, but is not limited to: crystal, case, crown, pushers, dial, hands, batteries, straps, and cosmetic changes occurring through normal use.

ALTERNATIVE SYMMETRY reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to repair or replace any watch submitted under warranty. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.

RETURNS POLICY (7 DAYS)

Unworn watches may be returned within seven (7) days of delivery for a full refund, excluding shipping costs.

Returns are accepted only if:

  • The watch is in perfect, unworn condition

  • All protective films remain intact

  • The watch is returned in its original packaging, including all documentation

Watches showing any signs of wear will not be accepted.
If the watch is returned in perfect condition but the strap has been worn or marked, the return will be rejected and sent back to the customer.

Watch straps are non-returnable.

RETURN INSPECTION

All returned watches undergo a detailed inspection upon receipt.
Refunds are issued only after verification that the watch meets the return conditions outlined above. Any item showing wear, damage, or misuse will be returned to the customer.

SHIPPING RESPONSIBILITY

Customers are strongly advised to:

  • Insure all return shipments

  • Select signature-required delivery

ALTERNATIVE SYMMETRY is not responsible for loss or damage during transit. Shipping risk remains the responsibility of the sender.

SERVICE & REPAIR

For service or repair requests, contact:

Standard service turnaround time is approximately 90 days, depending on issue severity and parts availability.

Upon request, a Service & Repair Request Form will be emailed and must be included in the return package. Watches must be securely packed using protective padding. Do not send the original presentation (gift) box.

If the watch is out of warranty, a Service Estimate will be issued for approval prior to any repairs.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

Battery replacement may be performed by a qualified local watch or jewelry service provider without voiding the warranty, provided:

  • The service is performed professionally

  • The watch is reassembled correctly

  • Gaskets are replaced as required to maintain water resistance

ALTERNATIVE SYMMETRY reserves the right to determine whether third-party battery replacement has compromised the watch or voided the warranty.

WATCH CARE

All plated components may naturally develop patina or surface marks over time, depending on usage and environment. Proper care is essential to preserve the appearance and longevity of your watch.

Due to the modular design, components may be carefully separated for cleaning using cold or lukewarm water only. Never use boiling water, abrasive materials, or harsh chemicals. Always use a clean, soft cloth to avoid surface scratches.

STRAP MATERIALS

Corn-based vegan leather straps, G-Pomme apple-based strap backings, and recycled PET canvas straps are designed for durability and daily wear, including resistance to moisture and light water exposure. While more water-resistant than traditional leather, proper care is recommended to extend strap life.

WATER RESISTANCE GUIDE

Water resistance ratings indicate suitability under normal conditions. Watches should never be worn in hot tubs, showers, saunas, or steam rooms, regardless of rating.

  • 3-ATM – Not suitable for water submersion

  • 5-ATM – Splash resistant (only for hand washing, light rain)

  • 10-ATM – Suitable for swimming and water sports (ALTERNATIVE SYMMETRY launch collection 001-004)

  • 30-ATM+ – Suitable for scuba diving
